Rufus Wainwright is one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. The New York-born, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter has released seven acclaimed studio albums and two live LPs. His first opera, Prima Donna, premiered at the Manchester International Festival in 2009 and was presented in New York at BAM and in Toronto. Wainwright is the son of folk legends Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and the brother of singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright. He has carved out his own singular sound in the worlds of rock, opera, theater, dance, and film.
