BAMcafé Live features a diverse mix of free live music and performance in BAM's Lepercq Space, a bar and lounge space in the Peter Jay Sharp Building. Started in 1999, BAMcafé Live, currently curated by Darrell M. McNeill, has served as a career launchpad for many new artists, including Stew, Antibalas, Slow Six, Carl Hancock Rux, Morley, Eisa Davis, Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra, ETHEL, Haale, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), Sekou Sundiata, Earl Greyhound, Licorice, and many others. BAMcafé Live has also been an intimate performance home for established artists like Marshall Crenshaw, Vernon Reid, Grady Tate, Fishbone's Angelo Moore aka Dr. Madd Vibe, Gary Lucas, Don Byron, Marc Ribot, Corey Glover, Joe Bataan, Jeffrey Gaines, and TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone.
BAMcafé Live runs from September through May on select Friday and Saturday nights.
