DanceMotion USA (SM)
Doug Varone and Dancers & Brenda Angiel Aerial Dance Company
A master storyteller of human dramas both great and small, New York-based choreographer Doug Varone creates work attuned to all manner of experience—from the still and intimate to the volatile and explosive. In this special engagement, Varone and his company are joined by Brenda Angiel Aerial Dance Company from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Together, they perform the final event of the third season of DanceMotion USA (SM), an initiative of the US Department of State, produced by BAM, that connects global communities through dance.
Since its inception, DanceMotion USA (SM) has brought performances, workshops, and master classes to 58 cities in 36 countries, reaching more than 63,000 people. The goal of DanceMotion USA (SM) is to share work by some of America’s finest contemporary dance makers and serve as a catalyst for cross-cultural understanding.
