The renowned Mariinsky Theatre—the jewel of St. Petersburg and a standard-setting titan on the world stage—returns for year two of its BAM residency, celebrating a pair of 20th-century icons with help from Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra. A selection of renowned soloists perform all five fiery piano concertos by Sergei Prokofiev. Then, dancers Diana Vishneva and Uliana Lopatkina honor legendary ballerina Maya Plisetskaya in a multi-evening tribute filled with doting footwork, archival video, and more.
