In conjunction with its presentation of Julius Caesar at BAM, the Royal Shakespeare Company offers this workshop that explores various approaches to teaching Shakespeare, inspired by the RSC’s rehearsal room practice. The day will focus on practical strategies that enable students to see a play from different characters’ viewpoints, and exercises to develop students’ appreciation of the images, rhythms, and sounds of Shakespeare’s language. These methods ensure more detailed, specific student writing and stronger personal responses. All activities are transferable to other kinds of literature.

The world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company returns to BAM with a new twist on Shakespeare’s classic political thriller, directed by Gregory Doran and featuring an all-black cast.
