Samuel H. Scripps BAM Scholarship Fund
Launched in 2008, the Samuel H. Scripps BAM Scholarship Fund for post-secondary education was established to benefit students who have participated in BAM's arts education programs. Each year, BAM will award two- or four-year scholarships to support select students pursuing degrees in the performing arts or arts administration with a focus on dance or theater. The Samuel H. Scripps BAM Scholarship recipients will be honored during the opening night performance of DanceAfrica 2008.


The 57th Capezio Dance Award
BAM is pleased to announce that the 57th Capezio Dance Award will be presented to DanceAfrica's own Artistic Director Chuck Davis on the opening night performance of DanceAfrica 2008. Awarded annually, the Capezio Dance Award celebrates signifi cant contributions to American dance by an individual, company or institution. It recognizes those who bring respect, stature and distinction to dance, and who exhibit innovation, creativity and imagination.
