One of the first masterpieces from the Hungarian maestro of gritty American B movies, de Toth’s landmark film noir-western amalgam reteams Sullivan’s Travels lovebirds McCrea and Lake (de Toth’s wife at the time, here in a sexy butch getup) in this fast-paced tale of deception and betrayal. Based on a short story by Luke Short, the film follows the machinations of a female ranch owner who lassos her foreman into a sadomasochistic relationship in an attempt to put her father out of business.
