Inspired by the advances of the era, Lutheran minister Rev Bill Youngdhal attempted a modest experiment in his church: asking 10 couples from his congregation to meet with 10 couples from the African-American Lutheran congregation across town. A scandal erupts and within weeks he is forced to resign.
