Part of BAMcinématek 2013 series Overdue
Directed by Abel Ferrara | 1993

With Harvey Keitel, James Russo, Madonna, Nancy Ferrara

"This wild, mean, smart movie about confessional filmmaking and the business around it is the work of a director interested in letting different elements—film within film, scenes of family life, video rehearsals that may or may not be staged—collide at full throttle."
—Kent Jones

Directing a grueling two-actor marital-meltdown psychodrama, film director Eddie Israel (Harvey Keitel) goads his stars (Madonna and James Russo) towards frightening, humiliating self-revelations before the camera. The turmoil stirred up on-set, however, begins to corrode Israel’s own domestic life—his wife is played by director Abel Ferrara’s wife, Nancy. Feral and frank, Dangerous Game is Ferrara’s , and he has never gone so far in deconstructing the myth and facts of his own wild man persona.
