Directed by John Cassavetes | 1980

With Julie Carmen, Gena Rowlands, John Adames, Tony Knesich, Gregory Cleghorne

"...it's clear from the opening montage that we're in the hands of a master."
—Time Out

Gena Rowlands with a gun is all you need to know about Cassavetes’ wickedly entertaining, darkly comedic thriller, in which a brassy New York City-bred ex-gangster’s moll sets about protecting a young Puerto Rican boy who’s been marked for murder by the mob. Cassavetes takes a shoulda-been-commercial-pap premise and turns it into a great freewheeling exercise in seriocomic naturalism—with some killer action to boot.
