Directed by Wong Kar-wai | 2013

With Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi, Chang Chen, Wang Qingxiang

"One of the truly galvanizing cinematic experiences of the year..."
—The New York Times

Wong Kar-wai’s highly anticipated new kung fu film has been six years in the planning and three years in the making. Inspired by the life and times of Bruce Lee’s famed kung fu trainer Ip Man, this epic action feature spans the tumultuous Republican era that followed the fall of China’s last dynasty—a time of chaos, division, and war that coincided with the golden age of Chinese martial arts. Filmed in a range of stunning locations that include the snow-swept landscapes of northeastern China and the subtropical south, The Grandmaster boasts virtuosic choreography by Yuen Wo-ping (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; The Matrix) and smoldering performances by some of the greatest stars of contemporary cinema, including Tony Leung (In the Mood for Love) and Zhang Ziyi (2046).

In Cantonese and Mandarin with English subtitles
