Exhibiting under a pseudonym since the 1970s, Lutz Bacher deploys found images and objects in a body of work that is by turns minutely personal and cosmological. In the first presentation of its kind, BAM devotes an evening to Bacher's films—which span four decades and are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and elsewhere—including poetic field recordings of the people and sites around her, epic time-lapse animations, and re-photographed material from film and television.
