Directed by Joss Whedon | 2012

With Nathan Fillion, Clark Gregg, Amy Acker, Ashley Johnson, Alexis Denisof

"The text is to me a deconstruction of the idea of love, which is ironic, since the entire production is a love letter—to the text, to the cast, even to the house it's shot in."
—Joss Whedon

After wrapping production on The Avengers, Whedon took 12 days to shoot this refreshing contemporary take on Shakespeare’s tale of sparring lovers. Filmed in his own home in Los Angeles in crisp black-and-white, and grounded by uniformly terrific performances by his unofficial stock company (“Actors: assemble!”), this irresistible slapstick comedy about frustrated love and revenge reveals the heretofore hidden link between the Whedon cult canon and the Bard’s intricate romantic roundelays.
