Directed by Alfred Hitchcock | 1954

With James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter

To celebrate the publication of his new anthology, Rainer on Film: Thirty Years of Film Writing in a Turbulent and Transformative Era, BAMcinématek invites the veteran critic of The Christian Science Monitor to discuss an all-time favorite in 35mm. Writing in New York Magazine, Rainer called Rear Window "perhaps the clearest example of a Hitchcock movie that functions on dual levels: It’s both mousetrap and abyss." The screening is followed by a discussion and book signing with Rainer, and copies of his new anthology will be available for purchase.
