All the Beauty and the Bloodshed
Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Laura Poitras (Citzenfour) follows photographer and activist Nan Goldin in her fight to hold the Sackler family responsible for their part in the opioid epidemic as the owners of Purdue Pharma. Narrated by Goldin and featuring many of her acclaimed photographs, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed weaves together an intimate portrait of the artist’s life—including the fight against AIDS in the 1980s and her own struggles with opioid addiction—with her political crusade against the Sacklers and the arts institutions that have accepted their money.
