The son of legendary big band leader and arranger Chico O'Farrill, Grammy winner Arturo O’Farrill—head of the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra—honed his skills playing piano with Carla Bley, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, and other luminaries before taking over his father’s big band in the 90s. Called a “magnificent player” by The New York Times, O’Farrill comes to Fort Greene for an intimate set at BAMcafé.
