Jesse Fischer & Soul Cycle specialize in tightly performed funk and soul grooves with a retro bent, reminiscent of Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters and similar bands of the 70s. Its members have played with everyone from Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder to Q-Tip and Kenny Garrett and that diversity shows; their tunes range from vacuum-packed funk to turntable-tinged jazz fusion, all of which will be on display at BAMcafé Live as they perform tracks from their upcoming release Retro Future.
