Audaciously transcending the boundaries of modern jazz and popular music, Travis Sullivan’s Björkestra puts an unhinged jazz spin on the music of Icelandic singer Björk. Female vocals and laptops augment a traditional big-band setup for a sound that “forges a path to Björk’s soul” (Jazz Times) while inventively paying tribute to the group’s namesake.
