Tamar and her students mark the spring equinox with their annual hafla (Arabic for “party”) and dance performance at BAMcafé Live. Showcasing some of the premier practitioners of raqs sharqi (belly dance) in the city, this spring’s fete features special guests Carmine & Friends and Pure Onyx Movement, performing to the alluring beat of North African and Middle Eastern melodies.
