BAM is proud to be a part of Cuban Culture Festival New York, an exciting multidisciplinary initiative in celebration of American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba’s 15th anniversary and its efforts to promote arts exchange between the US and Cuba. As part of this citywide festival, BAM co-presents with Mark Morris Dance Group a master class with choreographer Osnel Delgado, from Malpaso Dance Company, in conjunction with their engagement at The Joyce Theater. In addition, BAM will host a film series celebrating work by Cuban filmmakers; a live performance by Cuban poet and hip-hop artist Telmary; and Malpaso Dance Company will lead an Afro-Cuban dance master class as part of BAM Education’s Dancing Into the Future.
Malpaso Dance Company offers a Cuban approach to contemporary dance.
These masterworks of 1960s Cuban cinema are revolutionary in every sense of the word.
Acclaimed rapper Telmary marries her impressive flow with Afro-Cuban rhythms.
