Senior Cinema offers seniors 65 and older free admission to repertory classics, with complimentary popcorn and soda.
BAM continues its commitment to community arts programming with Senior Cinema, a monthly film series at BAM Rose Cinemas that provides moviegoers 65 years and older free admission to a movie with complimentary popcorn and soda. Since the launch of the program in 2005, nearly 8,000 seniors from throughout New York City have enjoyed free films and concessions. Senior Cinema features a breadth of repertory film programming, including classics, foreign masterpieces, and rarely seen gems. The series also includes a Spanish-language film, with subtitles, for Spanish-speaking seniors.
BAM partners with the New York City Housing Authority to provide participating senior centers and community-based organizations with subsidized bus transportation to and from BAM for Senior Cinema.
All Senior Cinema screenings start at 10am. Reservations are required and can be made up to three weeks in advance. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-seated basis. All cinemas are wheelchair accessible and offer infrared systems for people who are hard of hearing upon requests. For reservations, call 718.646.4122.
