Sundance Institute at BAM

For the third straight year, Sundance Institute has packed up its bags and is moving into BAM for eleven days to present 22 features and 36 short films from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, lively music concerts, Q&As with the artists, art installations, and special events that bring the creative energy of the Institute's artists and programs to New York audiences.

Opening Night
We kick off the series with a special screening of the award-winning documentary American Teen in the Howard Gilman Opera House, followed by a free Opening Night Prom Party.
   
Films from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival
Sundance Institute at BAM presents ten dramatic features and twelve documentaries from some of filmmaking's most exciting new voices, including ten New York Premieres.
   
Sundance Shorts Sunday
Catch a glimpse of some of the most boundary-pushing work in storytelling today with these 36 short films from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
   
Sundance Theater Playlist
Enjoy a live performance of new music from Sundance-supported composers, including Joseph Thalken (Harold and Maude), as well as a performance by monologuist Josh Kornbluth.
Screenplay Reading
Get a rare glimpse inside the creative process with this free reading of Alicia Eran's screenplay Hammer and Anvil, directed by Michael Greif (Grey Gardens, Rent).
   
Live Music in BAMcafé
From a lively piano concert to heavy metal straight from a rockumentary to the funk of an experimental trio, Sundance Institute at BAM presents three free musical events in BAMcafé.
New Frontier
See work by artists associated with Sundance Film Festival's New Frontier program, which celebrates the convergence of film and art as a hotbed for experimentation and new ideas, featuring Graffiti Research Lab and Daniel Rozin.
