Frequently Asked Questions—Membership

Transitioning to the new BAM Membership

What is the new BAM Membership?

It's a simplified way to see more of the film and live performances you love—and save money—all while providing crucial institutional support. There are two main changes to know:

• Two programs will become one. Our previous membership programs for cinema fans (BAM Cinema Club) and live performance fans (Friends of BAM), will be combined into a single program beginning May 19, 2015.

• Half off full-price movies and tickets to same-day live performances. And that's just the beginning. See this chart for a full list of benefits.

When does the new BAM Membership go into effect?

May 19, 2015

I'm already a member of Friends of BAM/BAM Cinema Club/Double BAM. Do I need to do anything to be enrolled in the new program?

No. You'll be enrolled automatically at the level determined by your current membership and for the duration of that membership.

I am an IDNYC card holder with a Friends of BAM/BAM Cinema Club membership at the Friend/Movie Buff I level. What happens to my membership on May 19?

All IDNYC card holders with a Friend or Movie Buff I membership will be automatically converted to Level 1 members. A new card will be mailed to you prior to May 19, 2015, the launch date of the new program. If you haven't received your card by then, just give us a call at 718.636.4194 or email membership@BAM.org. To learn more about the new BAM Membership, click here.

Does the new program affect my membership expiration date?

Yes. New BAM memberships expire on the last day of the month one year from when you originally joined.

What happens if I renew my current membership before the launch of the new program?

Your full year of membership begins at the end of your current member period, no matter how early you renew. We'll send you an updated BAM Membership card for the new program when it launches in May.

When will I get my new BAM Membership card?

A new card will be mailed to you prior to May 19, 2015, the launch date of the new program. If you haven't received your card by then, just give us a call at 718.636.4194 or email membership@BAM.org.
