As part of Muslim Voices: Arts & Ideas, BAM presents the New York premiere of Youssou N'Dour: I Bring What I Love, followed by a one-hour concert by N'Dour and his band.
Youssou N'Dour: I Bring What I Love is a remarkable film portrait of the legendary artist and humanitarian and the making of his Grammy Award-winning album Egypt. An extraordinary testament to his Muslim faith and an impassioned plea for a more tolerant view of Islam, the film profiles N'Dour with candid insight while providing a timely look at the complex place of music in Islam. This film received the Special Jury Prize at the 2008 Middle East International Film Festival.
