A tribute to a native Brooklyn daughter and her unprecedented achievements, Ready or Not: Shirley Chisholm for President features artists’ interpretations of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm’s historic race for the oval office in 1972. Celebrating the first African American (man or woman) to run a major party campaign for the Presidency of the United States, the exhibition showcases art inspired by Chisholm’s bravery and progressiveness and a comprehensive timeline detailing the turbulent events that framed her campaign.

Presented by Nat Creole, an online magazine dedicated to offering an entertaining yet informed perspective on the literature, politics, art, and music of contemporary global culture.
