Sounds Like Brooklyn: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Part of the 2009 Spring Season and Sounds Like Brooklyn Music Festival

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Opening Act: Chairlift
Feb 13 at 8pm

In February, BAM celebrates the music of Brooklyn with two weekends of concerts at BAM and at clubs around the borough. Featuring Brooklyn-based bands and solo artists from Bed-Stuy to Brighton Beach and everywhere in between, Sounds Like Brooklyn Music Festival (formerly known as Brooklyn Next) proves that Brooklyn is a hotbed for distinctive and innovative music.

This year, DIY indie phenomenon Clap Your Hands Say Yeah takes to the Opera House stage to perform songs both inspired and droll. These “rock geniuses” (Rolling Stone) bring with them their riotous variety of indie rock, guitar-saturated songs, and powerfully resonant vocals.

Opening for CYHSY, the trio Chairlift performs their signature hypnotic and often humorous music, combining moody vocals with an ethereal pop-cum-folk-cum-new wave style.
