An HBO Documentary Film
Directed by Adam Pertofsky
(2008) 35min

Marking the 50th anniversary of the forced desegregation on Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, filmmakers Brent and Craig Renaud interview the original Little Rock Nine, and present candid comments from current CHS students, their parents, and members of the community, who reflect on the school's historic significance. The film will be introduced by Minnijean Brown Trickey, one of the Little Rock Nine.

Immediately following Little Rock Central: 50 Years Later, BAM will screen The Witness: From the Balcony of Room 306. This documentary short, completed in part by the National Civil Rights Museum, captures the last days of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, recalled by his colleague Reverend Samuel "Billy" Kyles, who, forty years later, still declares "They may have killed the dreamer, but not the dream."
