One hundred Brooklynites take the stage. Together, they reflect the makeup of the city, each selected because they mirror the demographics of 1% of the borough. 100% Brooklyn is the latest production in Rimini Protokoll’s internationally acclaimed series, made with citizens from Tokyo to São Paulo. Part experimental theater and part interactive event, the participants come together to share stories and give their opinions on a range of issues—from whimsical preferences to painful truths—painting a living picture of the city in all its complexities, contradictions, and unabashed attitude. It is Brooklyn, after all.
“one of those were-you-there? and why-didn’t-I-know-about-this? events that a mere description cannot do justice to”

Where you’re from. Where you live. Your income, age, gender expression, religious beliefs, marital status. There are countless ways our identities get broken down into statistics. In 100% Brooklyn, experimental theater company Rimini Protokoll uses those numbers to build a community.
