BAM is excited to welcome an audience that reflects the diversity of the disabled and non-disabled performers who are part of Candoco Dance Company and to share in their commitment to making the arts a space for everyone. To ensure this is possible, BAM is offering increased accessible seating options for all performances by Candoco Dance Company.

If there is anything we can do to make your experience at BAM as accessible to you as possible, please let us know. Contact BAM Ticket Services at 718.636.4100 or info@BAM.org with any questions, suggestions, or for additional information. BAM staff will be available to offer assistance with accessibility needs on site during performances.

Seating Options

Accessible seating is available at every price point and level of the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House. Seating options include our regularly available ADA compliant seating, as well as transfer seating and expanded seating options that wheelchair users can access at the front of the orchestra. Please note that the expanded seating is not ADA compliant because the incline to access it is too steep, with a 1:6 ramp. The seats are on a flat surface with enough space to complete a 360 degree turn.

BAM staff will be on hand to assist with all seating options, including getting to and from the restrooms and navigating the incline to reach the front of the orchestra.

Backup seating options are available for guests who encounter accessibility issues with their ticketed seats once they arrive. Please notify an usher or BAM staff member of any concerns, and we will work with you to find a solution.

Ordering Tickets

Tickets for accessible seats, or a combination of accessible and non-accessible seats, can be purchased online or by calling Ticket Services at 718.636.4100. Ticket Services can assist you in finding the best seating configuration for your group.

Restrooms

There are accessible restrooms on all levels of the Peter Jay Sharp Building, which houses the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House. However, the accessibility features vary in each restroom. BAM staff will be on hand to direct guests to the restroom that best accommodates them, and to offer assistance if needed.

Please check back for specific measurements and photos of our restrooms and expanded seating options.
