Richard Thomas

British composer and writer Richard Thomas is best known for writing and composing the award-winning opera Jerry Springer: The Opera (National Theatre London, West End, Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House), which won four Olivier Awards in 2004, among many other accolades. Thomas also wrote the libretto for 2011 opera Anna Nicole (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), wrote and composed the two-act dance show Shoes (Sadlers Wells, West End), and wrote and composed Kombat Opera Presents…, a BBC comedy series of five musicals which won the Rose D’Or Comedy Award and Rose D’Or Best of 2008 Award. Thomas is currently working on a musical for the National Theatre called Drink? and is collaborating with David Arnold and Richard Bean on the musical version of Made in Dagenham.
