Martin Rev

New York City-born keyboardist and composer Martin Rev is the co-founder of the electronic proto-punk group Suicide. His style has varied from release to release, ranging from electronic no-wave (Martin Rev) to bubblegum electronic (Me Ridin, Strangeworld) to baroque-orchestral (Stigmata). Rev frequently works with filmmaker Stefan Roloff, and has created several soundtracks for his video work, including the acclaimed documentary Die Rote Kapelle. He contributed to The Raveonettes’ 2005 album Pretty In Black and appeared with MIA on Late Night with David Letterman in a performance of her single “Born Free,” which features Rev’s “Ghost Rider” as a sample. He currently tours internationally with Suicide and also as a solo performer.
