Sarah Koenig is the host and co-creator of Peabody Award-winning podcast Serial, which debuted in October 2014 and has been downloaded more than 60 million times. In 2004, she became a producer at This American Life, which she also guest-hosted several times. Some of the most popular episodes of This American Life that she produced and reported include “Switched at Birth,” “Dr. Gilmer and Mr. Hyde,” and “Habeas Schmabeas,” a Peabody Award-winning episode about Guantanamo Bay.

Koenig started out as a reporter at her weekly hometown paper, then lived in Moscow for several years, where she worked for The New York Times. She has since worked as a crime reporter and a political reporter for the Concord Monitor in New Hampshire and The Baltimore Sun.
