A member of Batsheva Dance Company leads an intensive master class in conjunction with Venezuela, the Israeli troupe’s evening-length work having its NY premiere this season. The class begins with an exploration of Gaga, the movement language pioneered by choreographer Ohad Naharin, which heightens awareness of the body. Participants learn to connect conscious and unconscious movement, discovering their own strength, flexibility, stamina, and agility. The remainder of the class is then devoted to a selection from Batsheva’s repertory.
BILLY BARRY was born in 1989 in New York. He graduated from Juilliard in 2011 and performed with Gallim Dance and Keigwin + CO. He joined Batsheva Ensemble in 2011 and Batsheva Dance Company in 2012.
