Following a highly successful and critically acclaimed season at the Joyce Theater, Ballet Next, the company founded by Michele Wiles and Charles Askegard, is pleased to present two new works by choreographers Katarzyna Kolzielska (Stuttgart Ballet) and Tobin Eason.  The evening’s program also includes Askegard’s Stravinsky Divertimento and Brian Reeder’s Picnic. Original set designs by Eason accompany Picnic and his new work, Mea Culpa. All performances are set to live music led by Ballet Next music director and cellist Elad Kabilio.

The engagement is a unique partnership between the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA and Ballet Next, with the goal of promoting arts, fitness, and education to young people by building lasting relationships in the community.

In addition to Wiles and Askegard, the dancers performing include Misty Copeland and Alex Hamoudi from American Ballet Theatre, Georgina Pazcoguin from New York City Ballet, and Jens Weber from Morphoses. Ballet Next soloists Lily Nicole Balogh, Kristie Latham, and Tiffany Mangulabnan will also perform.
