Part of DANSE: A French-American Festival of Performance and Ideas organized by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy
With a bold, vast repertory of work by emerging and established choreographers, the Lyon Opera Ballet is a leading force in contemporary dance. The company comes to BAM to present an evening-length selection by the daring French choreographer Christian Rizzo. A highly conceptual, chimerical performance work, ni fleurs, ni ford-mustang unfolds like a dusky dream. Fancifully dressed dancers wander or lie scattered, conjuring mysterious beasts or slowly morphing sculptures. As the deliberate pace accelerates, the turbid light clears, building to an astonishing, ravishing finale.
