YNEXT: BalletNext & The Bedford Stuyvesant Y
Co-produced by BalletNext and The Bedford Stuyvesant Y

Welcome to BalletNext, where invention trumps convention. In YNEXT, BalletNext and the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA present an evening of dance to benefit ongoing youth arts education programs.

The performance will feature Something Sampled – the result of uniting the 400 year old conventions of ballet and the art of Flex dancing which was born in Jamaica and transported to the streets of Brooklyn ten years ago – choreographed by flex dancer Jay Donn and Michele Wiles set to new music played live by electric cellist/composer Chris Lancaster. Ushuaia, a quartet by Michele Wiles, to music by H. Biber, and a special guest appearance from the “little dancers” at P.S. 54 will complete the evening.

The unique partnership between BalletNext and the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA aims to promote arts, fitness, and education to young people in the community. Proceeds from this benefit performance will go to support BalletNext and Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA's ongoing programs in youth arts education.

This event is presented by BalletNext and the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA. BAM house and ticketing policies may not apply.
