Eat, Drink & Be Literary: Frequently Asked Questions
About the Program:
What will the virtual program include? Will there be food and drink?
The program will consist of a reading, moderated discussion, and Q&A period, just as it would in person. While we’re not able to provide food and drink with your ticket, we will be sharing a cocktail recipe for each evening from BAM’s in house caterer, Great Performances, that you can prepare on your own in a nod to the in-person experience.
Will I be able to ask questions?
During the event, you will be able to submit your questions to the featured author via Zoom’s chat function for the Q&A portion of the program.
Will there be an opportunity to buy books? Is there any sort of a book signing?
A range of each author’s work is available for purchase from Greenlight Bookstore here. While a limited number of signed copies may be available, the majority of books will not be signed.
Are there accessibility features?
Each event will include closed captioning, which can be turned on and off or adjusted by each individual viewer. If there is anything we can do to make this program as accessible to you as possible, please let us know. Contact BAM at <mailto:accessibility@bam.org">accessibility@BAM.org with any questions, suggestions, or for additional information.
Is there any benefit to arriving early?
One of the advantages of the virtual program is that everyone has the best seat in the house! The Zoom Webinar room will open shortly before the program begins. Just be sure you’re logged in by 7:30pm and you’ll be good to go.
What if I am having trouble accessing the performance?
The Zoom Webinar should be easily accessed by following the link provided by BAM via email in advance of the performance. Please email info@bam.org for additional assistance with any technical difficulties.
When will I receive the link to the event?
You will receive a receipt upon ticket purchase. Your link for the event will come directly from BAM via email either the day before the event (if you purchased your ticket more than 24 hours in advance of the program) or by 6pm the day of the event (for same-day ticket purchases).
Ticketing Questions
Where can I purchase tickets for Eat, Drink & Be Literary?
Tickets can be purchased online via BAM’s website beginning on Wednesday, March 3 at noon.
In the past, Eat, Drink & Be Literary events have sold out quickly. Will that be the case for the virtual events?
One benefit of the virtual event is that we have a much greater capacity than in BAMcafé. However, we still encourage you to purchase your tickets early.
When will ticket sales end for each event?
Ticket sales will end at 5pm on the day of each event, in order to ensure that all guests receive the link to the Zoom Webinar by 6pm.
What if I can no longer attend the event?
If you can no longer attend the event, please reach out to BAM Ticket Services to arrange a ticket exchange by emailing info@bam.org.
Are there subscriptions?
Only single tickets are available for each Eat, Drink & Be Literary event.
What if I bought a ticket to the original live event in spring of 2020?
If you bought a ticket to the live event, you have been issued a refund, unless you generously chose to donate your ticket. You will need to purchase a new ticket for each event this spring in order to attend.
What is included with the ticket?
Every ticket provides access to the virtual event. No food or drink is incorporated into the ticket price. Books are available for purchase at Greenlight Bookstore here.
Will I get any email reminders or calendar invites directly from Zoom?
No, all email communications will come directly from BAM.
