Students will draw inspiration from contemporary poets with a commitment to arts and justice. This dynamic virtual workshop offers students a chance to add to their literary toolkit by writing original works about personal growth and social change.

In this program students will:
● Listen to a recording of “Peace to the Poets” performed by Bronx arts and justice collective the Peace Poets, part of BAM’s Poetry 2017: Word. Sound. Power performance
● Write original works reflecting on the idea of peace in a creative workshop led by a BAM teaching artist, streamed live in the classroom
● Explore personification, collaborate on communal poems, and learn literary terms through pre- and post-show activities provided in the online study guide
This virtual workshop runs 55 minutes, including performance excerpts. Fee: $200.
