With Daniel Lugo

“Evokes silent cinema in its elemental story and emotional directness”
—Chicago Reader

When eccentric painter and art professor Marcelino (Lugo) contracts a disease that makes him lose his eyesight, he is forced to take stock of a life rich with professional success but devoid of fulfilling personal relationships. Winner of the International Film Festival’s Curacao Yellow Robin Award, Puerto Rican director Alex Santiago Pérez’s debut feature film is rife with biting humor and moments of intimate stillness.

This screening is part of The Caribbean Film Series, which presents feature films made by Caribbean filmmakers that highlight the richness, uniqueness, and viability of Caribbean cinema to Brooklyn, home to the largest population of Caribbean nationals in the United States, and to all New York City residents and visitors.  For more information visit the Caribbean Film Academy website.
