Directed by Joel DeMott | 1980

With DeMott, Jeff Kreines, Mark Rance

At first blush, Demon Lover Diary, might read as a real-life Blair Witch Project. But what filmmaker Joel DeMott (Seventeen) captures is more along the lines of a real-life Christopher Guest work. In 1975 DeMott travelled to Michigan with her partner Jeff Kreines to document the making of a ultra-low budget horror movie The Demon Lover, on which Kreines was working as cameraman. Directed and produced by and starring two factory workers entirely out of their element, The Demon Lover is funded by the worker’s comp one of them received for losing his finger.
