With an international career that’s spanned more than six decades and well over 100 movies, Swedish-born actor Max von Sydow made nearly a dozen films with his mentor Ingmar Bergman, has become a staple of both the European arthouse and the mainstream multiplex, has worked with such American auteurs as Allen, Scorsese, and Spielberg, and memorably portrayed both Jesus Christ and an exorcist—endowing every role he’s played with an august presence and quiet dignity. All films in 35mm.
