Following recent cinematic sojourns to London, Barcelona, and Paris, Woody Allen turns his Europhilic eye to the Eternal City in this sun-dappled, star-studded ensemble dramedy. Unfolding in four vignettes, To Rome with Love makes gentle farce out of a diverse group of locals and tourists, including an architect still swooning over the memory of an old flame (Alec Baldwin), an ordinary Italian (Roberto Benigni) inexplicably hounded by paparazzi, and an opera director (Allen, in his first film role in six years) promoting his new star.
