Alexis Fish (Filly Brown’s Gina Rodriguez), flat broke and brokenhearted after the death of her philandering husband, is struggling to survive. When she begrudgingly returns home to her Latino-Jewish family in Brooklyn for a distant aunt’s funeral, Alexis has to contend with the antics of her overbearing mother, but winds up on a journey of self-discovery and new romance. With its colorful characters and one-liners, Sleeping with the Fishes is a comedy about coming of age and family.
