The Bicycle

Directed by James Richards
2013

Bobbi cannot stand Teddy and Teddy isn't exactly thrilled with Bobbi. Now that's all right on the playground, but Teddy is 36 and Bobbi is 10 and they live in the same house; Teddy is about to marry Bobbi's mother Cheryl. When Bobbi is jumped and her bicycle is stolen, Teddy realizes that finding the bully and getting the bicycle back is the perfect opportunity to repair their relationship. But their journey through the many worlds that make up their community ends up connecting them in a way neither could have imagined. Set in the working- and middle-class enclaves of Queens, New York, The Bicycle captures a rare slice of the African-American experience.
