Directed by François Truffaut | 1968

With Jeanne Moreau, Jean-Claude Brialy, Michel Bouquet

A grieving widow becomes an ice-cold avenging angel, picking off the five men, one by one, who murdered her husband on their wedding day. Truffaut turns each killing—by everything
from poisoned arak to bow and arrow—into a deliciously perverse, black-comic set piece, while the Hitchcockian overtones are gloriously heightened by the delirious Bernard Herrmann score.
