Directed by Raoul Walsh | 1939

With James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Priscilla Lane, Gladys George, Jeffrey Lynn

“Marvellously mixes semi-documentary aspects with traditional genre motifs…”
—Time Out London

Cagney and Bogart are World War I army buddies who get drawn into the bootlegging racket when they realize job prospects in civilian life are slim. Martin Scorsese called The Roaring Twenties the “last great gangster film before the advent of film noir… I’d like to think that Goodfellas comes out of the tradition of something as extraordinary.”
