Directed by John Hanson | 1984

With Lisa Eichhorn, Tom Bower, James Cada

A machinery operator (Eichhorn) in a Minnesota strip mine contends with workplace sexism while tentatively trying to move past her abusive marriage and start a healthy, new relationship. This rarely seen, beautifully photographed drama from director John Hanson—perhaps best known for his Cannes prize-winning Northern Lights, a collaboration with Heat and Sunlight director Rob Nilsson—captures blue-collar, Midwest life with almost documentary-like naturalism.
