Directed by Arthur Marks | 1975

With Pam Grier, Yaphet Kotto, Godfrey Cambridge

“Her name is Friday, but you can dig her any day of the week!” The great Pam Grier plays an ex-model turned scrappy photographer who’s always lookin’ for the scoop. This time she’s sniffed out the attempted assassination of the country’s richest African American (a suave Thalmus Rasulala), which is part of a plot to kill the country’s most powerful black elite. With an amazing cast including Eartha Kitt, Scatman Crothers, and Ted Lange (The Love Boat’s Isaac!), this adaptation of an early 70s comic strip is the “apotheosis of the entire early 1970s blaxploitation genre” (The Dissolve)—and marked Grier’s last top-billed role until Jackie Brown 22 years later.
