More than 50 years ago, on what would become one of the most iconic days in American history, a bus full of activists from California arrived in Washington, DC, to take part in the March on Washington. Traveling with this delegation, legendary cinematographer Wexler applied his era-defining visual style and fierce politics to capture a watershed moment in civil rights.

In 1974, Wexler, Jane Fonda, and activist Tom Hayden embarked on an act of political protest, traveling to North Vietnam during the most intense period of that region’s conflict with the US. In this “tiny jewel of a film” (Molly Haskell, The Village Voice), Wexler aims to put a human face on a vilified people, capturing Vietnamese from all walks of life in illuminating interviews that complicate the American public’s preconceived notions about the enemy.
