Directed by Pedro Rivero & Alberto Vázquez | 2015

In this adaptation of a surreal Spanish graphic novel, a band of misfit adolescent creatures living on a post-apocalyptic island—including the skeletal Birdboy and his mouse girlfriend Dinky—attempt to run away from both their dystopian society and their inner demons. Laced with acid trip visuals and sardonic humor, Birdboy is a wondrously strange, all-too-rare example of adventurous adult animation.
